Who We Are

How We Got Here
We're not your typical architecture firm, and honestly, that's kind of the point.
Started back in 2011 in a cramped Queen West studio that barely fit two desks, Blazorin Quinthalix has grown into something we're genuinely proud of. We began with a simple idea - spaces should work WITH people and the environment, not against them. Sounds obvious, right? But you'd be surprised how often that gets lost in translation.
Our name? Yeah, we get asked about it constantly. Blazorin came from an old family nickname, and Quinthalix... well, that's a story involving too many late-night design sessions and questionable coffee. But it stuck, and now it represents the blend of tradition and forward thinking that defines everything we do.
What sets us apart isn't some fancy design philosophy written on a wall - it's that we actually listen. Before we sketch a single line, we spend time understanding how you LIVE or WORK in a space. Because beautiful design that doesn't function? That's just sculpture, and you can't raise a family or run a business in sculpture.
Our Mission
We're here to create spaces that don't just look incredible but actually improve how people live and work. Every project we take on needs to meet three criteria: it's gotta be environmentally responsible, it's gotta serve its purpose flawlessly, and yeah - it's gotta make you stop and stare a little.
Toronto's changing fast, and we want to be part of shaping that change in ways that respect where we've been while getting excited about where we're going.
The People Behind the Plans
Meet the folks who'll be obsessing over every detail of your project

Marcus Quinthalix
Founding Principal & Lead Architect
Marcus started his career restoring century homes in the Annex, which taught him that good design respects context. He's got this thing about natural light - you'll hear about it, trust me - and he won't shut up about thermal mass until you understand why it matters. Licensed in Ontario since 2009, he's led over 140 projects ranging from single-family homes to mixed-use developments. When he's not sketching, he's probably cycling the lakeshore or arguing about the Raptors.

Sienna Blazorin
Partner & Director of Sustainable Design
Sienna joined us in 2014 after working on LEED Platinum projects across Western Canada. She's the reason we're obsessed with sustainability metrics, and she's got this uncanny ability to find passive heating solutions in the most unlikely places. Her background in environmental science means she approaches every project asking "what's the impact?" before "what's the aesthetic?" - though she's pretty great at nailing both. She's also our go-to for navigating the maze of green building certifications.

David Romero
Senior Project Architect
David's the detail guy. Seriously, he'll catch things in drawings that the rest of us miss three times over. He came from a commercial background, which means he thinks about workflow and efficiency in ways that residential architects sometimes overlook. He's particularly good at making tight urban sites work harder than you'd think possible. Outside the office, he's restoring a 1920s bungalow in Leslieville, which gives him plenty of real-world perspective on what actually works versus what looks good on paper.

Aisha Patel
Urban Planning & Heritage Specialist
Aisha's the newest partner, joining us in 2019 with a dual background in urban planning and heritage conservation. She's brilliant at navigating the intersection of old and new - figuring out how to honor a building's history while making it work for contemporary needs. She's also our liaison for community engagement, making sure projects don't just serve clients but fit into the neighborhood fabric. She volunteers with Heritage Toronto and knows basically every significant building in the city by heart.
What We Believe
- → Sustainability isn't optional - It's just how you build responsibly now. Period.
- → Context matters - A building that ignores its surroundings is a missed opportunity.
- → Function drives form - Pretty doesn't mean much if it doesn't work.
- → Transparency with clients - No surprises, no jargon you need a dictionary for.
- → Collaboration beats ego - The best projects happen when everyone's voice is heard.
- → Details define quality - It's in the connections, the transitions, the moments between spaces.
